SICILY

Arriving in Ortigia, the old section of Siracusa, I was immediately enthralled by the architecture and the local inhabitants. This island has so much history and beauty: each day passed quickly as I ventured from piazzas to the seaside, and I was able to continue working on my Crowdscapes and By the Water series.

Upon leaving Ortigia the next stop was Noto, and then on to Ragusa, Taormina and Catania. Everywhere I found people enjoying themselves, with copious amounts of wine and food. Each locale had its own unique character, which was an inspiration for my work.
